Carlson suffered a lower-body injury on Saturday and will not be available for Monday's game vs. the Hurricanes. Dmitry Orlov will move up to PP1 and Matt Irwin will make his season debut to replace Carlson.

Carlson left Saturday's game with a lower-body injury in the first period and did not return. Nick Jensen moved up to play with Martin Fehervary at 5v5, and Dmitry Orlov replaced him on the top power-play. Either the Capitals will make a call-up or Matt Irwin will replace Carlson in the lineup on Monday if he can't play.

Carlson missed the last four games while in COVID-19 protocol but both he and Dmitry Orlov (suspension) will return to the lineup vs. Vegas. Prior to landing in COVID-19 protocol, Carlson was held pointless in his last four games.

Carlson will miss his second straight game on Tuesday. Carlson was on the ice for Monday's practice but will be held out most likely as more of a precaution with nothing to be gained from Tuesday's game.

Carlson has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury but seems on track to return to the lineup on Monday. Carlson is officially listed as a game-time decision, so monitor his status as the Capitals hit the ice for warmups at 6:30 PM ET.

Carlson was not on the ice for the morning skate and is officially listed as a game-time decision for Wednesday's game vs. the Penguins. Carlson has been held without a point in four straight games but is third among defensemen with 42 points (10G / 32A) in 49 games.

Carlson missed the entire round-robin but practiced on Monday and will be a game-time decision for Game 1 on Wednesday. If Carlson remains out, Martin Fehervary or Radko Gudas will fill his spot and Dmitri Orlov will do a lot of the heavy lifting, including PP1.

The Capitals are playing it safe with their star defenseman and have listed him as a game-time decision for Thursday. If he doesn't play, Dmitry Orlov will continue to quarterback the Capitals' top power-play unit.

Carlson was nicked up in the Capitals' exhibition game but practiced returned to practice on Saturday. Given the fact that the Capitals are already locked into a playoff spot, they may play it safe with their star defenseman. Head coach Todd Reirden said that Carlson's status for Monday is still TBD, so consider him a game-time decision and check on his status during warmups.

Carlson is battling a lower-body injury and the Capitals announced that they’ve recalled Jonas Siegenthaler to replace him tonight. Carlson is day-to-day and questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Coyotes.
