It sounds like the Capitals are expecting Chychrun to miss some time, but expect them to release a timetable on his return in the coming days. Expect Alexander Alexeyev to replace Chychrun on Thursday if Matt Roy isn't ready to return to the lineup.

Coyotes general manager Bill Armstrong confirmed Thursday that Jakob Chychrun has experienced a setback in his recovery from a wrist injury that has kept him out all season. Chychrun is coming off an injury-shortened 2021-22 where he had 21 points (7G/14A) in 57 games with 141 SOG and a -20 plus/minus.

Chychrun had to have bone spurs removed from his ankle this summer, in addition to wrist surgery. When he met with reporters on Thursday, he said there's no timeline for him to return to the ice, so it seems as if he's in danger of missing the start of the 2022-23 season.
