Jake Allen News

Allen will start the Canadiens' season opener vs. the Maple Leafs.

Jake Allen will get the daunting task of taking on the high-scoring Maple Leafs Wednesday night. Allen has struggled in his two seasons since signing in Montreal as he has a 3.01 GAA and .906 SV% across 62 starts while only winning 20 games. He will look to get the Canadiens out on the right foot as they try to improve on their league-worst record from 2021-22.

Allen (lower-body) has been activated from IR and is expected to start on Thursday.

Allen has been sidelined by a lower-body injury since January 12th but is expected to start Thursday vs. the Stars. Prior to getting hurt, Allen had gone 5-16-2 with a 3.15 GAA and .901 SV% in 24 starts. Cayden Primeau was sent to Laval (AHL) to make room for Allen.
