David Perron joined the Oilers for practice on Friday. He skated on a line with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jordan Eberle but it’s not yet known whether he will play.

Perron has missed his last four games. After initially missing the team’s game against Toronto with an illness, a neck injury got aggravated and he has been out for the past three as a result of that. The Oilers play at 1 p.m EST so we will find out if Perron will play shortly.

Perron (neck) is set to join the team and should return to the lineup on Saturday.

Perron sat for the last four games with a sore neck. If he does play tomorrow, it will be the first time that the Oilers top-6 forwards have all played together this season. Perron has two goals and seven assists in his first 13 games as an Oiler.

The Oilers have placed David Perron on IR retroactive to October 27.

Perron was scheduled to have an MRI on his neck on Friday, so the illness he was dealing with seems to have passed, but now he is dealing with a neck injury. He will miss his second straight game tonight when the Oilers take on the Red Wings. He is eligible to return for Edmonton's next game, Tuesday vs. Florida.

The Edmonton Oilers have acquired left-winger David Perron from the Blues in exchange for left-winger Magnus Paajarvi and a 2014 second-round draft pick.

Perron, 25, was drafted by St. Louis in the 1st Round, 26th overall in the 2007 entry draft. The Sherbrooke, Quebec native had 25 points with the Blues last season, scoring 10 goals and 15 assists in 48 games. He had a career high 50 points in 2009. Perron has three more years left on his contract at a cap hit of just over $3.8 million.

Perron, who has missed 97 games due to a concussion suffered Nov. 4, 2010 vs. San Jose, will return to the lineup Saturday when the Blues host the Chicago Blackhawks at 7 p.m. at Scottrade Center.

Perron draws back into the lineup for the first time in over a year. He is expected to play with Patrik Berglund and Chris Stewart. Grab him now in case he continues where he left off.
