Kuemper stopped 18 of 20 shots in the Wild’s loss in Colorado on Monday. With Devan Dubnyk still out, Kuemper will start the first game of the Wild’s back-to-back. Monday was a strong performance, but overall he is 1-0-3 with a 3.00 GAA and .906 SV% on the season. He could be a solid option on Friday against a Coyotes team that has lost five straight games.
Kuemper stopped all nine shots that he faced to preserve the Wild’s shutout after replacing Devan Dubnyk in Saturday’s game against Colorado. With Dubnyk still out, Kuemper will start tonight in Colorado. Tonight will be just his fourth start of the season—he is 1-0-2 with a 3.44 GAA and .907 SV% on the season.
Kuemper hasn’t started since October 25th, when he was pulled after allowing four goals on 18 shots in a 5-4 loss to the Jets. In two starts this season, he is 0-0-1 with a 4.33 GAA and .891 SV%. His tough outings and limited playing time make him a terrifying start tonight vs. Dallas.
Kuemper allowed two goals on 37 shots in the Wild’s loss in Los Angeles on October 16th. It was a nice start for Kuemper, who entered last season as the Wild’s starter, but has clearly fallen well behind Devan Dubnyk on the depth chart. Kuemper will start the second half of the back-to-back vs. a Winnipeg team that is sixth in the NHL in scoring.
Kuemper took a serious backseat to Devan Dubnyk last season and ended the year at 14-12-2 with a 2.60 GAA and .905 SV%. Overall he is 27-22-6 with a 2.48 GAA and .910 SV% in 63 career NHL games. Tonight he will make his first start of the season against a Kings team who has lost their first three games—while being outscored 12-2.
Kuemper did not skate on Wednesday or Thursday because of an illness, so he will not back-up in Game 1, instead that duty will go to Niklas Backstrom. Kuemper will likely be kept away from the team until he is healthy. The team can not afford to get sick in the playoffs.
Kuemper will be making his first start since January 6th (93 days ago) tonight in Nashville. Kuemper will give Devan Dubnyk a rest after Dubnyk started the last 39 straight games. Kuemper has gone 13-12-2 with a 2.62 GAA and .904 SV% in 27 starts this season. He will take on a Predators team who have lost four in a row.
Kuemper finished his conditioning stint with a 2-3-0 record, 3.22 GAA and .891 SV%. It was not the best five game showing for the 24-year-old. However, the Wild have a back-to-back on Monday and Tuesday, so don’t be surprised to see him start one of those contests.
Kuemper missed seven games with a lower-body injury, but returned in a relief role in Minnesota’s final game before the All Star break. Kuemper will play a few games with Iowa, before returning to the Wild, where he will split time with Devan Dubnyk and Niklas Backstrom.
Kuemper has not dressed since January 2nd because of a lower-body injury. He will dress tonight, but is also expected to be assigned to Iowa for a conditioning stint during the All Star break. He will have to battle with Dubnyk for playing time after the break.
Kuemper will not dress on Monday vs. Columbus, which will mark the seven straight game that he has missed with a lower-body injury. With a back-to-back on Monday and Tuesday, Devan Dubnyk will start tonight and it could be Kuemper making his return to the crease tomorrow.
Kuemper will miss his fourth straight game tonight, but his return to the ice is a positive sign that he should be able to join his teammates for practice this weekend. Niklas Backstrom will start Tuesday with Kuemper still out.
Head coach Mike Yeo said that Kuemper re-aggregated a lower-body injury and will miss a week or so. That leaves the Wild with veteran Niklas Backstrom and John Curry as their goaltending tandem with three games in four days.
Kuemper suffered an injury in practice on Wednesday and has been placed on IR. His designation on IR means that he will miss at least the next four games (including tonight). Niklas Backstrom will serve as the Wild’s number-1 with John Curry as his backup.
Kuemper left Wednesday’s practice early. He visited with doctors yesterday and they discovered something that will keep him out “a little bit.” With Kuemper out, Niklas Backstrom will start tonight.
Kuemper left late in the Wild’s practice session with an undisclosed minor injury. Monitor his status during Thursday’s morning skate, if he is unable to go, look for Niklas Backstrom to start.
Kuemper was pulled after he allowed four goals on 21 shots in the Wild’s blowout 7-1 loss to the Stars on Saturday. Over the last month, Kuemper has lost five of seven starts with a 3.15 GAA and .902 SV%. He has become an extremely risky fantasy investment. Be cautious until he proves otherwise.
Kuemper stopped 34 of 35 shots in the Wild’s win over the Maple Leafs last night. Despite the busy evening, he will be in goal again tonight vs. the Stars. Kuemper has gone 3-0-0 with a 1.98 GAA and .935 SV% in his first three starts against Dallas this season.
Kuemper allowed two goals on 25 shots in the Wild’s loss to the Blue Jackets on Wednesday. He has lost five of his last six and now sits at 12-11-0 with a 2.58 GAA and .903 SV% on the year. He will start vs. an inconsistent Leafs team, who have lost five of their last seven.
