The St. Louis Blues are building up to be one of the top sellers for the 2026 Trade Deadline. Not only are there a large quantity of Blues’ players on the market, the quality is there too with names like Robert Thomas and Jordan Kyrou in the rumor mill. But how far into the rebuild should the Blues go?

Jeff Marek joined Daily Faceoff Live to talk about the Blues deadline plans and who could be on the move.

Jeff Marek: Do you remember the word that [Doug Armstrong] used? There was one very specific word that Doug Armstrong used. And whenever you hear a manager say this word, look out. He said embarrassed. Anytime a manager talks about a season being embarrassing, I mean, [Carter Hutton], you played, you know that word.

I was always told the worst thing you can call a player is soft, so don’t do it. To get to the NHL, you can’t be soft, so don’t use that word. When a manager says embarrassing, to me that says, ‘okay, everything’s on the table’.

Now, does that mean that Jimmy Snuggerud is on the table or Dalibor Dvorsky is on the table or Philip Broberg or Jake Neighbours or any of these guys are on the table? No, I don’t. I think that there’s some questions that St. Louis has to ask themselves. How quickly can Dalibor Dvorsky play up in the lineup? And if he can be your number two center next year, all of a sudden, that opens up the possibility to do more things.

But we’ve all heard the names. If Robert Thomas is on the market, look out. Find me the team that couldn’t use one of the best playmakers in the NHL, period. So we’ll hear plenty about Jordan Kyrou, and we’ll hear about Faulk, and we’ll probably hear about Jordan Binnington, and I would wonder about Colton Parayko.

I mean, that whole blue line. As much as we picked apart the goaltending this year, and make no mistake about it, the goalies have been hard to hit, but that blue line in front of them has been awful this season. Like, that’s got to be Exhibit A right now for Doug Armstrong.

But whenever you hear a manager say embarrassing, assume the worst. So that’s why I think there are so many things on the table now for St. Louis that probably weren’t at the beginning of the year.
