After a thrilling opening round, we’re set to get underway for the division finals.
On Saturday night, the NHL released the tentative schedule for the second round of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs. It features the matchups between the Philadelphia Flyers and Carolina Hurricanes, Colorado Avalanche and Minnesota Wild, Vegas Golden Knights and Anaheim Ducks. The only series yet to be finalized is the Atlantic Division Final, which will pit the top-seeded Buffalo Sabres against the winner of the Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay Lightning, which will be decided on Sunday night.
There will be two new teams in the Stanley Cup Final this year. After the two-time defending champion Florida Panthers failed to qualify for the postseason, the Edmonton Oilers were knocked out by the Ducks in the first round.
