Victoire’s Erin Ambrose out vs. Frost, Lina Ljungblom activated off LTIR

The Montreal Victoire announced Sunday that defender Erin Ambrose won’t play Sunday against the Minnesota Frost due to an illness. The team also signed defender Tamara Giaquinto to a 10-day contract.

The Victoire also announced that forward Lina Ljungblom has been activated off long-term injured reserve (LTIR) after missing the first eight games of 2025-26 with an illness. She will be in the lineup Sunday agains the Frost.

In two other roster moves, Montreal returned defender Kelly-Ann Nadeau to the team’s reserve player list, while forward Claire Vekich has been released.

Ambrose has three assists with 17 blocked shots while averaging 21:01 of ice time in eight games. Through three PWHL seasons, the 31-year-old blueliner has four goals and 30 assists for 34 points in 60 career games.

As for Giaquinto, a sixth-round pick in the 2025 PWHL Draft, spent five seasons in the NCAA with Boston University. She scored 15 goals and recorded 29 assists for 44 points in 143 career games. In her fifth season, she served as captain and posted nine goals and nine assists for 18 points in 38 games.

Meanwhile, Ljungblom had three goals and three assists for six points in 29 games with the Victoire in 2024-25. She was selected with the final pick of the 2023 PWHL Draft.

In parts of six seasons in Sweden’s top domestic league, Ljungblom had 80 goals and 65 assists for 145 points in 152 career games.

Going into Sunday’s game, the Victoire were 3-1-0-4 with 11 points, last in the PWHL.
