It has yet to be reported when Boisvert will make his NHL debut.
Boisvert is the second member of the Boston University Terriers to sign his ELC this week. On Sunday, star defenseman Cole Hutson signed with the Washington Capitals, with many expecting last year’s NCAA Rookie of the Year to make his debut sometime this week.
Hutson, Boisvert and the Terriers were eliminated by the Connecticut Huskies in the Hockey East quarterfinals on Saturday.
It was a tough season for Boisvert. After leaving North Dakota to play for BU, he struggled to find the same level of success and production that made him NCHC Rookie of the Year in 2024-25. In just 26 games, he scored a measly three goals and 14 assists for 17 points, far from the 32 points he posted with the Fighting Hawks.
On top of that, the 19-year-old was a healthy scratch from the Terriers’ matchup with Vermont in the first round of the Hockey East Tournament, which Mike McMahon of College Hockey News reported was because Boisvert was late to a team workout.
Nevertheless, Boisvert enters the pro ranks after appearing in 63 NCAA games, scoring 21 goals and 28 assists for 49 points.
Boisvert was taken by the Blackhawks in the first round, 18th overall, of the 2024 NHL Draft. It came after an impressive season with the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the United States Hockey League, where he potted 68 points in 61 games and was named a Third-Team All-Star.
The Blackhawks are scheduled to host the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night. Chicago (25-30-11) is last in the Central Division, seven points back of the last Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.
