The Chicago Blackhawks announced on social media that forward Oliver Moore left Sunday’s game against the Dallas Stars with an injury and would not return.

The injury occurred in the first period after Moore and Stars’ forward Colin Blackwell got tangled up along the boards while battling for a loose puck. While it’s not clear what Moore injured, he looked to be in pain.

Seconds after he went down, Blackhawks’ defenseman Sam Rinzel scored to make it 2-0 Blackhawks. Moore’s Chicago teammates helped guide him back to the bench, then he went straight to the locker room.

Moore finished the night with an assist and 1:49 of ice time. The 21-year-old center now has five goals and 14 assists for 19 points in 51 games with the Blackhawks in 2025-26. He has a total of five goals and 18 assists for 23 points in 59 career regular-season games.

Moore, the No. 19 overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, is in his first full professional season after spending two seasons playing college hockey at the University of Minnesota. In 77 career NCAA games, Moore recorded 21 goals and 45 assists for 66 points.

A native of Mounds View, Minn., he also spent two seasons with the U.S. National Development Team in the USHL, where he finished with 20 goals and 31 assists for 51 points in 55 career games.

Moore represented the United States twice at the World Junior Championships, helping them earn back-to-back gold medals in 2024 and 2025. He recorded two goals and six assists for eight points in 14 WJC games.
